Families in Gaza can't wait—write to your MP now

The renewal of hostilities in Gaza is nothing short of catastrophic. But it’s not too late to prevent further loss of life.

As bullets and bombs continue to fly, two million Palestinians are at serious risk.

Homes, hospitals, schools, and markets have been destroyed—everything families need to survive is gone. People in Gaza are relying on aid just to get by. They need peace, not more devastation.

Our teams in the West Bank are witnessing an unprecedented increase in violence, causing a coercive, unstable environment.

Our Government still has the power to use its trade, diplomatic and humanitarian influence to support calls to reinstate a lasting ceasefire. They also have the power to champion International Humanitarian Law and enable necessary aid to safely reach those who need it.

Your MP has a role to play in pushing the Government to do more to end the crisis. And you, as a constituent, hold the power to show them that this matters to you

So write to them today. Even if you’ve already done it — do it again. The pressure needs to keep building. Let’s keep pushing.

Dear [MP NAME],

Millions of Palestinians are at serious risk as homes, hospitals, school and markets are reduced to rubble. Palestinian Families cannot endure more suffering.

The renewal of hostilities has forced all humanitarian organisations to reduce their movements across Gaza, including Action Against Hunger.

Their teams in the West Bank are witnessing an unprecedented increase in violence, causing a coercive, unstable environment.

I welcome steps that this government has taken to address this crisis. But there is much more to be done to prevent more lives from being lost.

The UK must strengthen calls for an immediate and permanent resumption of the ceasefire agreement. Only a ceasefire will enable the necessary humanitarian assistance to be distributed, International Humanitarian Law to be upheld and civilian deaths to be prevented.

As your constituent, I urge you to use your role in Parliament to call for the following at every opportunity:

  • The UK must intervene and place diplomatic and political pressure on Israel to implement a swift and full permanent resumption of the ceasefire agreement.

  • The UK must hold perpetrators accountable, bringing to light and amplifying evidence of grave violations -- or we risk a loss of faith in the rules based global order.

  • The UK must support the provision of humanitarian assistance, including fuel and other essential materials to all parts of Gaza without bureaucratic or military obstruction to address the populations’ most urgent needs.

  • The UK must call for humanitarian operations in Gaza that are independent from conflict parties.

  • The UK must call on the Government of Israel to immediately extend work visas for humanitarian workers for at least six months, and to immediately begin issuing new work visas for humanitarian workers.

To learn more about the situation in Gaza and what actions you can take, I also urge you to contact the advocacy team at Action Against Hunger UK ([email protected], Jack Feinmann, Parliamentary Relations Manager).

Sincerely,

[Your name]
