Protect civilians in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank
Call on Keir Starmer to act.
The humanitarian crisis in the Middle East is reaching catastrophic proportions. Violent military attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and the destruction of homes, schools and health facilities.
In Gaza children are dying of hunger. Nearly 2 million people have fled their homes and are on the brink of famine. In Lebanon, more than 1 million people are displaced. In the West Bank schools are being destroyed and thousands of Palestinians are under attack from settlers.
We're stepping up our efforts to provide urgent assistance in Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank. But the scale of the needs is immense and our teams are operating under extreme risk.
We welcome the announcement of a 60-day ceasefire in Lebanon, but there is still much work to be done to help those impacted and to ensure regional peace.
Thousands of lives remain in danger. An immediate end of hostilities is still needed in Gaza, and protection of the civilian population is vital.
Will you add your name to our message to Keir Starmer?
We call on your government to urgently use your diplomatic powers to:
- protect civilians and civilian infrastructure in conflict across the region, as required by International Humanitarian Law
- stop the use of hunger as a weapon of war, in compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2417 on conflict and hunger
- call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, which is essential to prevent further suffering and enable the safe delivery of life-saving humanitarian aid
- prevent the use of violence against civilians by Israeli settlers in Area C of the West Bank and end restrictions on the movement of Palestinian communities in the West Bank.
