TELL THE NEW GOVERNMENT
Choose hope, reverse the cuts and help save lives.
Together, we can help create a world where fewer people face hunger.
Conflict, El Niño-driven droughts, floods, famine and rising prices are making it harder for millions of people to access food, clean water and healthcare. But hunger is not inevitable. The right choices can save lives and stop crises from getting worse.
The UK can choose to lead. Instead of cutting aid, the Government can protect lifesaving support, back local organisations and help build a safer, fairer future.
Our futures are connected. By acting now, we can show what hopeful leadership looks like.
We’re calling on the Government to:
Emergency funding should be sized to the number of people who need support, not capped by what's politically convenient. When funding falls short, families go without the food and treatment that keep children alive.
Aid workers need safe, unimpeded routes to reach people cut off by conflict or crisis. Where access is blocked, food and medical supplies don't get through — and that cost is paid by the people waiting for them.
Emergency response alone can't break the cycle. Sustained investment in local food systems, livelihoods, and resilience reduces how often crises happen — and how severe they are when they do.
The warning signs of a hunger crisis are usually visible months in advance. Releasing funding and support at the first signs, rather than waiting for a formal declaration, saves both lives and money.
Commitments made at summits and in strategy documents need to be tracked and reported on publicly, so progress — or the lack of it — can be seen and acted on.
Change is possible when people act together.
